More than two years had passed since I had last seen my friend Henry Hatherly from New Zealand. We first ran into each other at random in a 6th Street bar in Austin, Texas while I was celebrating a birthday with some friends from Baton Rouge. The Austin adventures led to more in Key West and the eventual subject of this story, the epic trip to visit Henry at his newly founded surf-camp eco resort in Fiji called Maqai Beach (pronounced Mang -I) http://www.maqai.com/.
